Blue economy situation in partner countries

Partner Countries Montenegro and Albania (M&A) are both located along the Mediterranean coast, but compared to neighboring countries Greece in the south and Croatia to the north, M&A has comparatively much smaller economies in the maritime sector. M&A also have problems with employment especially of young people and a low rate of new business start ups and overall very low generation of new jobs related to the maritime sector, especially for young people.
The partner countries have availability of human resources both in the form of young people and adults that are seeking employment opportunities. This project is primarily targeting those that are students at HEIs and this group is primarily young people, although adults of higher ages are not in any way ruled out.
Knowledge transfer between program partners HEIs and partner HEIs will provide necessary insights into current educational practices in EU where the components of the strategic planning should be implemented in Montenegro and Albania.
By focusing on the Blue economy and maritime sector in Montenegro and Albania and start up new education programs/improving existing education programs at HEIs, the efforts will be concentrated to include innovation and entrepreneurship concepts in curricula, to ensure support to maritime sector and generate more successful employment and start-ups.
